Final Cut - Take Me To Church Music Video

Final Album Advertisement

Having received audience feedback about the mock up of my album advertisement and reviewed my rough edit, I have made some changes and this is now what my final album advertisement looks like. It promotes Sofia Karlberg as an artist and the new album 'Cover To Cover.'

Final Digipak Design

Above is the final version of my digipak design. This is a birds eye view of it and if I was to print it out and fold it along the lines, the photos would all face the right way and be the right size. Having received audience feedback about the mock up of it, I made quite a lot of changes which I think have been effective and successful. Overall I am pleased with how it looks and believe that it clearly presents all of the necessary information to the viewer in a visually exciting way.

This is the final version of my digipak placed onto the template that I used to size and shape the panels. This presents an idea of dimensions and also shows the basic framework that I used to help me during the process of completing this.

Auteur Music Video Directors

These slides present two different auteur music video directors, including research about not only their personal lives, but also their professional lives. Who they work with and whether or not they've been nominated for or have won awards is important - especially if they have a specific style of music video as it helps them to promote themselves successfully to other artists and can be used as a successful marketing technique.

Definition: a film director who influences their films so much that they rank as their author.

Stardom Presentation

'Who are the biggest stars in Hollywood and why are they important?'

Below are two slides showing the definition of two different types of stars, as well as who the biggest star in Hollywood are at the moment. There is also a brief explanation of what the star system is and how it promotes different stars in different ways.

The reason that stars are all so important, is that without them businesses would not be able to thrive the way in which they do now. The music and film industry would collapse if we did not have any stars, as we would have no one to make music and no one famous to act onscreen. The fashion industry and magazine industry would also fold. Without stars to base new fashion trends on, or high profiled lives to write about, there is no way money could possibly be made the way it is now without having famous stars to promote and publicise.

Iconography Presentation

Below are screenshots of two slides that I have out together about an icon who is known all over the world; Marilyn Monroe. I have researched a little bit about her life, when she was born, her nationality and what her occupations were. I have also looked at how it is she had become such a star, icon and muse for woman (both young and old) even in today's modern day and age.

Lip And Band Syncing Analysis

Below are five screenshots of a presentation made on PowerPoint, each focusing on a different artist and one of their music videos. I had to research a little bit about David Bowie and his life, before analysing how well, within his music video, lip and band syncing is done. I then had to do the same for a modern icon, Lady Gaga, as well as for a 'Top of the Pops' band. I chose to analyse ABBA for this, looking at how well they pretend to sing and play the instruments on stage, as for 'Top of the Pops' everything is pre-recorded. I then had to look at a stop motion video, and I looked at  Oren Lavie. I briefly explored how the artist promotes his image and what he does to make his video different from a normal music video. Kiesza is the artists who's music video I chose to look at as a single shot video. This means that it was all filmed in one take, and I looked at how she promotes herself as an artists and what is interesting about her video.

The History Of The Music Video - VLOG

This VLOG presents the research that I did about the history of pop music, outlining ideas about when and how it originated and influences it has on the world today.
